Suitable for organisations who have no commercial need to exploit ORB and is ideal for those organisations who share the objectives and support the principles of the project.

• Supporters must be prepared to publicly support the project. The Supporters logo will be used wherever Supporters are mentioned in ORB presentations, website and initial press releases.
• Opportunity to do joint press releases if it makes bilateral sense
• Access to source code for non-commercial use and with no distribution rights.
• Mandatory Upstreaming. It is mandatory for a Supporter to offer modifications and extensions back to the ORB community.
• Opportunity to guide the future development of the ORB project.

Suitable for organisations who have a commercial need (now or in the future) to exploit the project and share the objectives and support the principles of the project.

• A Contributor’s logo will be used when Contributors are listed in ORB presentations, website and press releases. This condition can be waived on a case by case basis.
• Access to the source code for commercial use. Unlimited royalty free rights to distribute ORB as part of the Contributor’s product. Rights to share source code with Contributors, Supporters and sub-contractors
• Mandatory Upstreaming Of Bug Fixes. Contributors may add new features and are encouraged to offer them back to the community
• Contributors must make a contribution to the project either financially or in terms of supplying resources to achieve agreed objectives. In the absence of another contribution then a Contributor should make a one off payment to contribute to development costs and commit to a 3 year maintenance contract
• Opportunity to guide the future development of the ORB project
